Requiem of an Unrequited Love - By Deepak Choudhary

Requiem of an Unrequited Love

Though you treat me bad

Ugliness, anger, disgust………. is all your eyes show

This autumn suddenly has a distinctly grayish hue,

We all know the reason why

Mr. Cupid you can take a bow

History is replete with lovers calls gone unheard

Hearts broken …. and trampled on

A penny collected for each one would have created millionaires (well….at least one)………

I don’t want to be just another brick in this wall,

A faceless entity or a worthless poet’s call

Sitting down and waiting for fortunes to change, is not how I play the game……..

Things will be said and done to show my feelings are pure

Till you are convinced

And the grimace on your face changes to a smile, on hearing my name…….

Though everything I have said and done to you might belie this

There might have been anger involved but malice was certainly not in the frame……

My solace lies in your arms

A day will come, of that I am sure

When you will be convinced of the same.
