IRMA – Rural Management Case Writing Year

This December the Institute will celebrate her 30th Foundation Anniversary. Up until now the journey has been one of hope, achievements, and joys, with some measure of frustrations to complete the package. The birth of the Institute was co-terminus with the commencement of the PRM. Along the way, a portfolio of MDPs, a one year programme for a brief period, the Fellow Programme, and most recently, a Certificate Programme in Dairy Management, got instituted, apart from a number of very visible research and consulting activities. The PRM continues to be the flagship and by itself, has been the biggest contribution to India’s higher education firmament.

In continuation with our founding mission and a commitment to academic excellence, it gives us immense pleasure in inviting you to participate in a particular initiative to give a boost to the knowledge on Rural Management, a domain that is uniquely IRMA and of which we are the professional experts.
As a part of its, 30th Year Celebration, IRMA is launching “Rural Management Case Writing Year” and invites you to share your professional experiences and reflections through a case study and contribute to enrich the knowledge base at IRMA. In its endeavor to build strong rural examples that would help the participants of various programmes at IRMA and professionals in the field of rural management to understand the rural context in the present day world, IRMA would publish the selected case studies in a book called “Rural Management Case Book” to commemorate the 30th Year Celebrations on Dec 14th, 2009. We also have planned to publish the same book through a renowned publisher and place the book on stands throughout the country. Few selected contributors would also be invited to IRMA to interact with the participants and share the case studies.

The theme of the case study should definitely pertain to the rural context but can vary in the subject from operations, strategy, organizational growth, marketing, finance, social enterprise etc.

I request all alumni friends, faculty and current participants to encourage us in this endeavor through contributions for the same. A general guide-sheet and proposed date-lines are given in the attachment.

You may please note that the first drafts should be received no later than 23rdAugust, 2009. If you are interested in writing a case please send an email @: irmacasewriting@gmail.com confirming your participation.

We look forward to great responses with enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation – the hallmark of IRMA Alumni, faculty and participants.

With Regards,

Facilitators
