The day started with the flag hoisting at 9 am where all the students (PRM 30,31 and FPRM) along with the faculty were present. As the day grew older the spirits raised proportionally as well. The celebrations were scheduled at 5:30 pm in the auditorium. Last minute restlessness, agitation and apprehension could be heard in the form of deafening yells, there were costumes, props, crowd and sweating participants everywhere. After a trivial delay, which seemed like a century to the fervent audience the program commenced with the prize distribution by the IRMA club for excellence in academics, arts, literary events etc. to the kids. Then there were programmes by the kids like group dance . The kids were so energetic and vibrant on stage made the crowd broke into applause. Presentations by PRM-31, began with the skit on "Naxalism", it depicted the problems that our country is struggling with in the present and offered the idea of uprooting it by combining efforts of all the countrymen, reuniting like we once did for our freedom struggle. Then came the group dance which brought with it the varying trends and colours of the second largest entertainment industry in the world i.e. BOLLYWOOD. It hailed songs from serene 50's, easy going 60's, charismatic 70's, alluring 80's, sizzling 90's to compelling 2000. It represented our rich and varied culture and our evolution as an art adoring nation. Then there was recitation of the poem "Khooni Hastakshar" by a Shakti Singh. The poem is quite famous because it gave birth to the famous slogan "tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi dunga" by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. As the celebration arrived at its end there was a spectacular performance by the college band which played patriotic rhymes like vande mataram , jai ho , maa reva and the song with which every IRMAN can relate to "the AMUL song". This dazzling performance marked the end of a beautiful evening which was an evening of pride, national delight and homage to the martyrs of our independence war. An event like this demonstrated our love for the country and exponentially increased our respect for it. Moreover it also helped us realize the true feeling of being an IRMAN and our responsibilities towards the nation to serve it in the best possible manner.
